In 2019, I hit my true rock bottom. I couldn’t hold a job, I was drinking every day, my health was slipping, and my marriage and relationship with my young son were falling apart. With nowhere left to turn, I reached out to Evans Training Center. I showed up with nothing but a suitcase and a desperate willingness to try.

Through their Regeneration Program, I encountered the hope of Jesus Christ. God began rebuilding my life from the inside out.  With the support, structure, and grace I found at Evans, I slowly rebuilt trust with my wife and my son. As I grew spiritually, emotionally, and practically, God restored what I thought I had lost. My family was reunited, and together we entered the Family Development Program. There, I learned new rhythms of communication, healing, and healthy family life.

Over time, I discovered leadership gifts I never knew I had, leadership I now apply to work and home life. Today, I serve as the supervisor of Evans’ paint crew, mentoring men who are walking the same road I once traveled. Seven years later, I’m a devoted husband and father of three, a homeowner, and a living picture of God’s restoration.  I am grateful for Jesus in my life, a renewed family, a supportive community, and a future filled with hope.

What I learned at Evans Training Center – especially the things I resisted at first – have become the foundation of my life today: a daily walk and relationship with Jesus Christ and the importance of relationships/community in my life.
